I play a LOT of Halo 3. It’s safe to say I’m addicted. Because I play so much, I see a lot of great gamertags used by players all over the world. The silly and creative names people come up with never cease to amaze me. Starting with this post, each week I’m going to make a list of my top 5 favorite gamertags of players I’ve played against in Halo 3. I will gather new names from players I face each week. Sooo, without further ado, here’s my first top 5 list of XBOX live gamertags. I can’t guarantee these are all spelled correctly.
Rumplen00bskin
FuzzyBallSeam
SturdiPole
HeavyFloaters
HuFlungPoo
And there you have it! I’ll have a fresh top 5 next week.
As I mentioned in a previous post, Team SWAT would be returning to Halo3 matchmaking for a limited time and it has begun today! Sign into matchmaking and look for the Double EXP weekend playlist. It’s not quite the Team SWAT you’ll remember from Halo 2, but it’s not bad either. I could do without the grenades. I’ve played a few games so far though and I’m enjoying it. It took a few kills to get used to concentrating on headshots again, but the rust is beginning to wear off.
Team SWAT will exist in Halo3 matchmaking until the end of this weekend. Double EXP will be rewarded to the winners of each match. I’d guess Bungie will probably also have prizes in store for various achievements once the weekend is over, just like they did for Grifball.
Today Bungie released a handful of great looking screenshots for the map named Avalanche, which will be part of the Legendary map pack, downloadable via the XBOX Live Marketplace. The release date is scheduled for April 15th and the price for the pack will be 800 points.
Avalanche may look familiar to you as it is a reimagination of the Sidewinder map from the original Halo: Combat Evolved. As you can see from the screenshots below, it looks great. Here’s hoping it’ll be more enjoyable to play on than Snowbound, which is probably my least favorite of all the original maps shipped with Halo 3.
Looks to be a huge map. Big even.
